BOX OFFICE: Black Panther Close to Another Milestone and More from the Weekend
Hotel Transylvania 3 dominated theaters this weekend, finding itself on top of The Rock’s action film Skyscraper.
The Adam Sandler led children’s comedy was able to rack up $44.1M this weekend with Marvel’s tentpole Ant-Man and the Wasp trailing behind at $29.1M
The Rock still had a presence at third place, taking in $24.9M. June hits The Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World also had a presence this weekend, but it is a February tentpole that has been making rounds once again.
Marvel’s Black Panther, now only playing in 28 theaters across the United States, currently sits at $699.901M domestically, exactly $99K away from the $700M mark.

Just a few years ago, the James Bond film Spectre saw a similar fate, idling at the box office for a staggering 61 days between $199M and $200M. Black Panther will most likely stick around in theaters a while longer until Marvel is able to boast that impressive sought-after box office milestone of $700M.
