2018 Box Office and Theater Attendance is Up After Disappointing 2017
With a packed movie weekend ahead of us which includes Skyscraper, Hotel Transylvania 3 and Sorry to Bother You, theater attendance is up from the disappointing take last year. 2017 saw one of the weakest box offices in recent memory, but 2018 is already doing better only 7 months in.
With huge releases like Infinity War, Black Panther, The Incredibles 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp, 2018 is boasting an impressive 12.8% rise on 2017, currently standing at $2.69B. The year-to-date box office also rose 8% to $6.63B.
2018 has been a packed year for cinema and is only going to keep getting better with hot new releases like Mission: Impossible - Fallout and Aquaman on the horizon. People around the world are once again visiting theaters to see films big and small, even with box office bombs like Solo: A Star Wars Story.
